Nobu Perth is pretty special and it can be special in ways that are just right for what you want to do on the night. We liked it and there was plenty that we really loved too.
Beautiful, dark and atmospheric, just right for romance.
Loved up couples and special occasions with smaller groups.
The ‘this is special’ fit out and atmosphere as well as the consistently high standard of, well, everything.
Enter Nobu and if you’re not there for a special occasion, you either should be, or you’ll soon feel like you are anyway. The atmosphere is dark, sophisticated and private. Ripe for romance.
Nobu offers options. Sit down for a la carte. Front up to the Sushi bar and place yourself in the hands of the chefs. Or enjoy the Teppanyaki show like we did.
Teppanyaki is always great fun, casual and sociable and at Nobu you get all of that, and more. The chef was friendly and his skills, eye-widening.
While Teppanyaki at Nobu isn’t particularly different, the theatrics of this cooking style are skillfully delivered and the food is spectacular. We were there for a milestone birthday (we won’t go into the exact numbers) and it was a fantastic choice. Great fun and worthy of the occasion.
To the food. The chef opened with a simple, zingy mixed salad to wake up the taste buds. Next came a trio of seasonal vegetables that were good without being amazing.
Prawns next. Huge, cooked to perfection and almost rare, right on the edge. We wish we were brave enough to cook like that and the miso yogurt made it wow time.
Seared scallops were next level. So good that describing them here is pointless. Go try.
Then the unbelievable Black Angus, tender, cooked and seasoned to genius perfection.
To top it all off, we were presented with a special surprise birthday cake that was chocolate heaven and a lovely finishing touch.
Take high expectations and your significant other to Nobu. You won’t be disappointed. Standards are high and we’re not surprised. After all, who wants to upset Bob De Niro?
