With food defined as gorgeous and generous, we only have to hear the name ‘Ria’ to get our taste buds pinging.
Superb food and a visually stimulating fit out make this a lively venue great for groups of asian food lovers.
Bigger groups, fun nights, laughter and exciting dining.
The size, drama and colour of the murals. And the food. Definitely the food. Did we mention the food?
Our mouths start to water every time we think about the food at Leederville’s Ria Malay Kitchen. It is the food what brought us back as a party of 15 to celebrate a joint birthday. Our first foray was a more intimate occasion and left us dying to return. So we did.
We decided on a weekend lunchtime gathering that could mosey on into the afternoon. Ria gets busy during evening service, and it was nice to be there to experience a more relaxed atmosphere.
The environment is sensational, dominated by huge murals that reference the restaurant’s cultural inspirations. Our group was tucked up nice and cosy up the back and we got started with two bottles of bubbly to celebrate the event, plus complimentary still and sparkling water.
To nibble on we ordered the Lotus Chips with chilli sambal, and these were quickly scoffed by everyone! Ria have a great Two Course Lunch Special for $25 and most of us ordered from this shorter menu. It includes a choice of four starters, four mains, and complimentary rice. With glasses of wine or beer only another $5, everyone was happy.
When the food arrives, we were taken on a one way trip staright to foodie heaven. The dishes were gorgeous, and the portion sizes very generous. Some of us even took leftovers for an encore performance at home.
Our waitresses worked well with our large group, and everyone was content. The staff were informative and quick to let us know when something was not available, and provide good alternatives.
Go spend an afternoon or evening at Ria, we insist.
