Our most stylish Saturday night in a long time; dinner at Post inside COMO The Treasury.
Special occasions, date night, splashing some extra cash.
The understated styling and exquisite detail, right down to the hessian covered menus.
We can’t have been the only ones grumbling when the first weekend of ‘summer’ brought us two days of rain.
A brooding, stormy Saturday night saw all potential plans rained off, but no amount of bad weather was about to dampen our spirits. Time for Plan B, to COMO The Treasury we go…
With expectations high - We’re suckers for a bit of hype - We were nothing short of impressed the moment we set foot through the door. Post’s interior is absolutely beautiful - Chic, minimalist, modern.
Everything about the place feels high end without any snobbery.
Expecting a long wait ahead of us thanks to arriving at 8pm without a reservation, the attentive and affable staff were very accommodating and made sure we were seated right away. Their sunny disposition was infectious and lasted all night long, making this some of the best service we’ve seen in Perth.
Post was once the franking room of Perth’s General Post Office and the restaurant still retains some of the building’s original period features, whitewashed to give them a sleek, modern edge. There’s a real calm and tranquil air about the place that somehow makes the whole experience even more luxurious. You can actually just sit back and… relax.
But before we get too relaxed we have to tell you about the food, the highlight of the night. Divine! Impeccable. Heavenly. Here at Venue Menu we’re a real mixed dietary bag so if one of our carnivores says this is the best steak she’s ever eaten, you sit up and listen. The flavours, the textures, they were all spot on and everything is sourced locally so you can genuinely feel good about where your food has come from.
There’s serious culinary talent and thought behind every dish and if you’re a fan of seafood then you’ll find yourself well catered for.
So, if you’re after something special then we’re telling you to get down to Post sharpish. Although we advise you play it safer than we did and make a reservation, good words about this place are spreading fast.
