This is far from the dusty space in your Granny’s house. This attic has light, style, charm and warmth to create a place that encourages you to hang around.
This was our first time and we love The Attic. It’s not a firm Freo fave because of the space, the atmosphere and the quality of the food and coffee. We love.
A dependable, high quality breakfast, brunch or lunch. Young and old, travellers and locals.
The homey feels., the gluten and dairy free options and the long communal table.
Some of our Venusers did a weekend mini break to our southern port city and they put the The Attic on top of our list of favourites and first choice breakfast option for whenever we’re in Freo.
It’s hidden away, but totally central, right off the strip, opposite the Hougoumont Hotel.
If we could, we would hang out here all the time. It’s the sort of place where you know it’s always going to be good. You can depend on it when you want to impress, have a quick bite of something on the go, or bunk down for a brunch with your friends.
The Menu’s much like the venue - just the right size. Not too big, not too small. And if you’re not staying, there’ s a fridge of freshly made goodies & bacon/egg sandwiches to take with you.
The ground floor entry has a small outdoor seating area perched on the pathway so if you want to feel the sun, or keep an eye on your bike, you can do.
Moving inside it quickly becomes obvious where this venue got its name. A staircase leads you up to the attic, a generous elevated space that overlooks arts of the venue and the street below. It’s always excellent to be elevated and up here you feel safely tucked away in a lovely space. Perfect for settling in to enjoy your meal, have a couple of coffees, talk and laugh with friends or just gather your thoughts to refresh and get ready for the day ahead.
The Attic keeps it all nice and simple and concentrates on doing what they do very well indeed.
Please don’t tell our inner city locals, but we now wish that The Attic was our local.
