Fully fed and very content with food and water views.
Keen to escape the usual weekend breakfast haunts, we headed to 150 East for a morning feed with a view.
The tranquil surroundings and impeccable service.
Swan river scenery.
Respite from the rat race.
By now it’s common knowledge that breakfast can be the meal Perth does best and we’re first to admit we’re always on the hunt for the next big thing. Give us a venue slightly off the beaten track and we’re there - let’s be honest, it feels pretty damn good to discover a place and say ‘I told you so!’
So, we entered 150 East. A sun drenched Sunday morning called for somewhere scenic with a laidback vibe and we were familiar with its picturesque Swan River location (full disclosure - we’d ogled the website and menu many times), so what better way to start the day.
First impressions were two fold - the service is top notch and the scenery superb. Staff were friendly, accommodating and super attentive but never obtrusive, more than happy to talk through the menu. The garden is absolutely gorgeous and the setting so serene you forget you’re still in Perth. This place feels more ‘Margaret River Retreat’ than ‘Middle of a Metro City’ and it’s easy to see why it’s a sought after spot for weddings.
We opted for the Bircher Muesli with Mango Coulis and Poached Eggs, Avocado and Feta on Turkish bread and both dishes hit the morning sweet spot. The Bircher was that perfect balance of sweet and tangy with a generous serving of pistachio that really enhanced the flavours, whilst the poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the Turkish bread fresh and delicious. Their coffee was tasty, hot and the staff kept it coming - hats off to any venue where your cup doesn’t sit empty for too long.
This is the perfect spot if you’re after a breezy brekkie, a place to unwind and soak in the surroundings whilst chomping on your brekkie. If you go, though… just remember who told you.
