A cup of proper brew amongst a trove of quirky household treasures
A hidden gem loved by Leedie locals for it’s strong cuppas, tasty all day treats and household goodies.
The decor. It’s truly delightful and, despite a mostly open air setting, still manages to feel so cosy and inviting.
Pouring over the paper with a coffee.
Anyone with an appreciation for quirky interior design.
In its former life as a furniture grotto this was a place only known to Leederville locals, but in recent months it’s undergone a hip Perth makeover to emerge better and brighter as Babylon.
If you’ve ever walked into a place and thought ‘if only my house looked like this,’ then you’ll struggle to leave empty handed (we couldn’t do it). The place is 100% cool, laidback vibes and everything you can sit on is for sale. Think Aladdin’s cave meets gardening centre, meets retro coffee joint and you’re pretty much there.
Having built up their reputation through word-of-mouth amongst the cafe worshipping crowd, the place has become a smash hit. Their perfectly crispy tortilla stacks are touted all over town, and deservedly so, but if you ask us the real magic is in their banana bread. Chunky slabs grilled to perfection with generous chunks of chocolate. Mmm, for Fat Friday calories, look no further.
This is a top spot if you’ve missed the boat with brekkie or you’re peckish at that awkward ‘in between’ time. The menu runs from from 7am until 3pm and it’s the same all day long. That’s a lot of time for tortillas, folks!
As much as we love the Northbridge coffee scene it’s great to find such an inviting venue slightly off the beaten track, and for those of you flying solo their coffee window is the perfect spot for propping yourself up with a paper or your preferred digital device.
A word to the wise though - these guys really know their coffee so if they tell you it’s strong they ain’t kidding! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Now, one last thing before you go… do you really that need that many rugs?
