The Story

This is one of our fave stop-offs when journeying down south. There’s nothing better than breaking up the drive with some savoury sharing plates and a drop of their pale ale.

It’s impossible not to morph into holiday mode at Eagle Bay - luscious open air setting, a delightful menu and punchy service all topped off by a fine selection of homemade beers and wine to tempt you. Put your phone on silent because this is a place to savour without interruptions.

The menu changes seasonally so you’re guaranteed fresh fare, and salad is plucked straight from the garden. Whether ravenous or just slightly peckish there’s enough portion varieties to suit all, kiddies included.

Their tasting boards and mezze glide out of the kitchen like there’s no tomorrow and it’s easy to see why. There’s no better setting for nibbles with a glass of wine and their presentation is spot on.
We went for the pumpkin cornboard and seafood mezze and they did not disappoint, fresh on the palate, well balanced and not too heavy. Gotta leave room for pizza after all!

Pizza toppings rotate with seasonal produce too and flavour combinations are interesting without being too complicated. Quite honestly, you’re guaranteed a win whatever you choose - we’re not ashamed to say we even had a bout of food envy over the margarita. Simplicity done right.

For the Mums and Dads out there, you the icing on the cake is the surrounding gardens where the kids can roam free and release that pent-up road trip energy. They are always under your watchful eye whilst you enjoy that SSB. And maybe order another for the road.
